Our second stop...Juneau, Alaska
We pulled into Juneau on August 11th, which is our anniversary. We celebrated our second anniversary on a glacier. Brad and I did a glacier trek on Mendenhall Glacier. It took us about two hours hike to the glacier. The hike consisted of both a National Park trail and off trail portions, where we climbed the mountains. Once we got to the glacier, we walked around on it and did a little ice climbing. The ice climbing was a little scary but turned out to be an amazing experience.

We were given one bottle of water each back at the van (before our hike began) and told to drink up we would fill up on the glacier. This is Brad filling up his water bottle and testing out the water.

In town

Ketchican, Alaska

Our first stop...Ketchican, Alaska
Monday we pulled into Ketchican, Alaska where we took a sea plane ride in the Misty Fjord and walked around the town. Brad sat co-pilot and I was in the prime photo spot...the back seat. I got a little "air" sick on the way there but was okay on the way back. From the plane we saw bald eagles and sea lions along with glaciers and waterfalls. The ride was absolutly amazing.

Under the dock at the Plane, I thought it looked cool before I took the picture and then I took the picture and thought it was really cool.

Waiting for take off...this was the cutest little hut on a floating dock.

Although it rained it was still a beautiful trip. The pilot said that a National Geographic photographer said that he wanted her to take him around Mystic Fjord. The day he was going to go up with her it was a clear and sunny day. He told her that he needed to reschedule because the clouds really showed what Mystic Fjord was really like.
